Dining Cashback boosts business’ spirits

Coastal businesses are feeling the pinch during the algal bloom and the State Government is fully aware of the problems this marine event has caused.

A number of initiatives have been implemented by the government to assist businesses, and one is the Dining Cashback program.

South Australians enter the ballot online for a chance to win a cashback offer of 50% (up to $50) at participating coastal hospitality businesses and SA seafood retailers.*

The Hotel Victor, in Victor Harbor, has reaped the benefits of participating in the Dining Cashback program.

Hotel Victor publican Brad Riley said the program had given the hotel a much-appreciated lift.

“When we heard about the government initiative, we were hopeful it might offer some support during a challenging period for not just us, but all businesses that are struggling,” Brad said.

“Being located in Victor Harbor, right by the sea, the algal bloom has had a noticeable impact on our usual foot traffic and accommodation trade.

“We want to extend our sincere thanks for every meal, drink, and transaction made through the program – your support as the public has meant more than you know.”

Brad said there were many benefits from being involved.

“Because of this scheme, we’ve been able to support our staff by helping us keep our team together,” Brad said.

“We have been able to maintain our standards, allowing us to continue sourcing quality ingredients and offering the level of service you deserve.

“We are so thankful to the government for adding this fantastic incentive to support local businesses affected by the algal bloom and we thank the local community and visitors for choosing the Hotel Victor as your local.”
